Analysis guides

The reasoning behind each recommendation. Each source has its own page that lists every race and measure in the comparison, what the source recommends, and a short summary of why. Where a source does not address an item, the page says “Not covered.”

• LA Forward

A Los Angeles civic organization's progressive voter guide, built by volunteers and staff from interviews, media coverage and candidate materials. Partial as of October 7; the full guide is due October 9.

• Progressive Voters Guide

Courage California's guide. Rates incumbents on a legislative scorecard and campaign funding; “no recommendation” often means “hold the Democrat accountable.”

• La Defensa

A femme-led Los Angeles group working to shift from criminalization toward care. Rates candidates as Endorsed, Recommended, Harm Reduction or No Recommendation, mainly on criminal justice, immigration and housing.

• LAist

Nonpartisan local news explainers. LAist takes no positions, so it is not in the comparison grid, but its summaries of each race and measure are here.
